Meredith Wells has devoted nearly 30 years to the study of dance and movement. Her artistic training has included Ballet Arts Minnesota, Boston Ballet’s Summer Dance Program, the Five College Dance Department, and Festival Ballet of Georgia. She began forming her teaching pedagogy while at Hampshire College studying child psychology and movement therapy. The performance bug bit her though and she ended up pursuing a professional dance career before fully embarking on her passion for teaching. Meredith has performed in outdoor venues, historical buildings, mansions, university campuses, and theatres large and small from Minneapolis to Atlanta, Los Angeles to New York City. Ms. Wells danced with Island Moving Company in Newport, RI where she was a company member from 2002-2013. She also performed as a guest artist with Spindle City Ballet and The Urban Nutcracker, and is currently dancing with Kat Nasti Dance. Meredith has taught at Newport Academy of Ballet from 2002-2013, Rosemary’s School of Dance from 2005-2013, North East Rhythmic Gymnastics from 2013-2015, Community Dance Academy at Walnut Hill 2014-currently, Suzanne’s Dance Connection starting September 2015 and is thrilled to be joining the staff at Koltun Ballet Academy this fall. When she is not teaching ballet you can find her teaching trapeze at her husbands school Revolution Trapeze, taking open class in Cambridge, or in her kitchen cooking up a new recipe. Meredith truly loves having had the opportunity to share the art of ballet with so many young dancers and looks forward to many more years of inspiring students to be the dancer that is hidden with in them
